Andrée Theander has dedicated himself to the art of playing guitar since the day he turned ten. On that day, he got his first electric guitar as a birthday present from his parents. Soon after he also started writing music, took guitar lessons and joined the music program at the high school in his hometown Härnösand, Sweden.
Later his musical studies led him to both some of the most well-established schools in Sweden as well as Musician's Institute (GIT) in Los Angeles, CA. His characteristic playing style has now been described as a modern day Joe Satriani or Steve Lukather, as heard on his work with the progressive rock group Cap Outrun or the melodic rock project The Theander Expression. But although originally a rock musician with a great personal touch, he has the ability to be extraordinarily versatile and with a wide range of skills in different genres like singer/songwriter, pop, metal and blues, all the way to jazz and fusion. In fact, he has even performed with jazz giants like Swedish trombonist Nils Landgren and American fusion pioneer Jeff Lorber together with some of the best jazz musicians in the world, like Randy Brecker and Vinnie Colaiuta.
Today you can either find Andrée working in his own studio in Jönköping, Sweden or on the road, bending the strings as if his life depended on it. He is constantly active with his online guitar education, session work, Cap Outrun, solo releases and the publicly loved ABBA Vision.
